Ever look at someone who eats clean, trains regularly, and think,
“Man, I wish I was that disciplined”?
News flash: they’re not better than you.
They’ve just practiced consistency—and consistency is a skill.
Skills are built with reps, not inspiration. And just like lifting weights or learning guitar, you start small and messy before it gets automatic.
So what does building consistency actually look like?
- Lower the bar. If you’re struggling to eat better, start with one meal.
- Create streaks. Don’t break the chain. Show up daily—even in a small way.
- Plan for screw-ups. Missing a day isn’t failure. Missing two is the start of a new habit.
Here’s the truth: motivation is unreliable. Habits are not.
And the only way to build habits is to show up especially when you don’t feel like it.
You don’t need to be perfect.
You don’t need to be inspired.
You just need to keep showing up.
The more you do, the more consistent you become.
Not because you’re special—but because you trained for it.
